George Hubert Bradley (c.1896-1918)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

BRADLEY, GEORGE HUBERT. First Class Air Mechanic. No 403127. 1st Aeroplane Supply Depot Repair Park Royal Air Force. Formerly Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Son of Fred and Ada Bradley of Newlands View, Thongsbridge. Educated at Netherthong National School and was also a scholar at Thongsbridge Sunday School. Employed as a weaver by Messrs James Watkinson and Sons, Bridge Mills, Holmfirth. Enlisted 4.8.1914. Embarked for France April, 1915, with the local Territorials ('F' Company, 1/5th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment). Accepted into the RAF in July, 1917. Died of wounds, 23.9.1918, aged 22 years. Buried in TERLINCTHUN BRITISH CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 4, Row C, Grave 26.
