The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

SHAW, GEORGE EDMOND. Private. No 5159 Duke of Wellington's Regiment, transferred to No 269888 Labour Corps. Born Farnley Tyas. Son of Frances Shaw, of Thistle Hill, Wakefield Road, Lepton, and the late William Henry Shaw. Died of pneumonia, 23.10.1918, aged 26 years. Buried St. LUCIUS CHURCHYARD, FARNLEY TYAS WAR MEMORIAL. Grave location:- in South part.
