Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

COLLIER, GEORGE. Private. No 2705. 1/7th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born 13 Mitchell Street, Nursery Lane, Ovenden, Halifax. Educated at a school in Ovenden. Employed as a wire temperer at Messrs Joseph Sykes Brothers Limited, Acre Mills, Lindley. Husband of Agnes Collier, 43 Baker Street, Oakes, Huddersfield. Enlisted October 1914. Killed in action on the Somme, 3.7.1916, aged 29 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated on the THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
