Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

BENTLEY, GEORGE. Private. No 4419. 1/5th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Married. Lived 40 Eldon Road, Marsh, Huddersfield. Employed as a gardener at Greenhead Park and was a member of the Ramsden Street Chapel Brotherhood. Enlisted 9.8.1915. Embarked for France in January, 1916. Killed by a shell, 15.11.1916, aged 26 years. Buried in FONCQUEVILLERS MILITARY CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 1, Row J, Grave 28.
