Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

BARKER, GEORGE. Private. No 18173. 2nd Battalion (Eastern Ontario) Regiment. Born Sun End Farm, South Crosland, 31.8.1891. Son of Hector and Martha Barker, 26 Prince Royd, Birchencliffe. Educated at South Crosland Church School and Spring Grove Council School. Emigrated to Canada. Single. Enlisted August 1914. Reported missing, presumed killed, between the 22nd and 26th April, 1915, near Hill 60, aged 23. Has no known grave. Commemorated on the MENIN GATE MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.

Brother to Private FRANK LESLIE BARKER.
