Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

CLARKE, GEORGE A. Private. No 6115. 1st Battalion Connaught Rangers. Born Grimsby 8.11.1886. Educated at Grimsby Schools. Employed as a house furnisher's shop assistant. Husband of Mary E. Clarke, 167 Yews Hill Road, Lockwood. Enlisted 12.12.1916. Reported missing, 9.7.1917, in Mesopotamia. Has no known grave. Commemorated on the BASRA MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING, IRAQ.
