Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

NELSON, FREDERICK. Lance Corporal. No 14880. 9th Battalion King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Born 21 Tunnicliffe Hill, Huddersfield. Son of Benjamin and Elizabeth Nelson, 49 Hope Street, St. Andrew's Road, Huddersfield. Educated Thomas Street Board School. Employed as a machine fitter by Messrs J. Hopkinson and Company Limited, Birkby. Attended Northumberland Street Primitive Methodist Church. Single. Enlisted 26.8.1914. Killed in action during the Battle of Arras on 9.4.1917, aged 23 years. Buried COJEUL BRITISH CEMETERY. Grave location:- Row D, Grave 7.
