Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

CAINE, FREDERICK, MM. Sergeant. No 240244. 1/5th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Huddersfield. Second son of Mr and Mrs Dennis Caine, 17 Dock Street, Huddersfield. Attended St. Patrick's Church. Employed by Messrs J. Lumb and Sons Limited, Folly Hall, Huddersfield. Awarded the Military Medal 9.12.1916. Killed in action at the Battle of Passchendaele, 9.10.1917, aged 22 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated on the TYNE COT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING..
