Fred Taylor (1895-1917)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

TAYLOR, FRED. Rifleman. No 267798. 1/7th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment. Born Milnsbridge 6.4.1895. Educated Crosland Moor Church of England School. Employed as a cloth finisher by Messrs Walker, Dyson and Sons of Milnsbridge. Lived 105 Cottage Retreat, Marsden Road, Huddersfield. Single. Enlisted November 1914. Killed in action at Passchendaele on 9.10.1917, aged 22 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated TYNE COT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
