The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

LILLEY, FRED. Lance Corporal. No 20253. 2nd Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Paddock 30.10.1894. Son of John William and Annie Lilley, 46 Westbourne Road, Marsh. Educated Paddock Elementary School. Was in business with his father as a gardener. Single. Attended Paddock Congregational Church and was a member of the choir. Enlisted 8.4.1916. Killed in action at Passchendaele, 10.10.1917. Buried CEMENT HOUSE CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 10, Row F, Grave 47.
