Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

HEELEY, FRED. Private. No 76881. 12th Battalion Manchester Regiment. Formerly No 367798 Labour Corps. Born Hade Edge, Holmfirth, 7.12.1899. Son of Jonathan and Elizabeth Heeley, 63 Laund Road, Salendine Nook. Educated Fenay Bridge Council School and Hillhouse Council School. Employed as a spinner by Messrs Hirst and Mallinson of Longwood. Single. At the time of enlistment, was living at Gibson Street, Oakes. Enlisted 7.12.1917. Killed in action near Cambrai, 12.10.1918, aged 18 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated VIS-en-ARTOIS MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
