Frank Wilds (1893-1917)

An ongoing project to commemorate and research the lives of those who appear on war memorials and rolls of honour in the local area, who served in the military, or whose deaths were linked to conflict.

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

WILDS, FRANK. Private. No 23034. 13th Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment. Born Manchester 30.9.1893. Son of Frank and Annie Wilds, 18 Victoria Street, Lockwood, Huddersfield. Educated at Manchester schools. Employed as an iron fettler by Messrs Calvert and Company, Folly Hall. Single. Enlisted 25.7.1915. Killed in action, 26.5.1917, aged 24 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
ROH:- St. Stephen's Church, Rashcliffe.
Brother of Private JAMES WILDS killed in action, 31.7.1917.
