Frank Thompson (c.1897-1917)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

THOMPSON, FRANK. Private. No 13979. 5th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Scarborough. Son of James Richard Thompson of Greenside, Thurstonland and formerly of Birkby. Lived 7 Chadwick's Yard, Birkby. Employed as a finisher by Messrs Middlemost Brothers and Company Limited, of Birkby. Attended Highfield Congregational Church. Enlisted September 1914. Embarked for France in 1915. Killed in action during the Battle of Arras on 9.4.1917, aged 19 years. Buried LEVEL CROSSING CEMETERY, FAMPOUX. Grave location:- Plot 1, Row B, Grave 67.
