The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- SCHOFIELD, FRANK. Company Sergeant Major. No 801. 18th Battalion Australian Imperial Force. Born Linthwaite. Prior to emigrating to Australia lived at the Ivy Hotel, Linthwaite, near to which place his father had a farm. Enlisted early in 1915. Had served for over two years in Egypt, the Dardenelles, Mesopotamia and France. Died at Fargo Hospital, Salisbury, 14.10.1917. Buried with full military honours in CHRIST CHURCH CHURCHYARD, LINTHWAITE.
