The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

SCHOFIELD, FRANK. Private. No 242474. 'C' Company, 1/5th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers. Born Deighton, Huddersfield, 25.9.1879. Educated Deighton Board School. Lived 54 Deighton Road, Deighton. Employed as a brickyard labourer. Single. Enlisted 31.7.1916. Killed in action, 22.3.1918, aged 38 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated POZIERES MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
ROH:- Christ Church, Woodhouse Hill; Deighton United Methodist Chapel; Deighton War Memorial.
