Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

METTRICK, FRANK. Private. No 242019. 2/5th Battalion Leicestershire Regiment. Formerly No 2762 Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Holmbridge. Son of the late Mr and Mrs Jonas Mettrick, Digley Royd, Holmbridge. Employed by Messrs W. H. and J. Barber, Clarence Mills, Holmbridge. Enlisted 7.12.1916. Embarked for France in February, 1917. Died of wounds at No 46 Casualty Clearing Station, 28.9.1917, aged 20 years. Buried MENDINGHEM BRITISH CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 6, Row F, Grave 8.

Brother of Private ARTHUR METTRICK who died as a Prisoner of War on 27.5.1918.
