Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

HIRST, FRANK. Air Mechanic 1st Class. No 38401. H.Q. (France) Royal Air Force. Born Taylor Hill, Huddersfield, 21.5.1897. Son of Edith and the late Willie Hirst, 2 Mellor's Buildings, Stoney Lane, Taylor Hill. Educated Mount Pleasant Council School. Employed as a motor driver by Messrs Kaye and Stewart. Single. Enlisted 20.7.1916. Came home on leave from France and contracted pneumonia on the journey. Died in Royds Hall Military Hospital, 17.2.1919, aged 21 years. Buried LOCKWOOD CEMETERY. Grave location:- A, 462.
ROH:- Emmanuel Church, Lockwood; Taylor Hill Primitive Methodist Church.
