Frank Dawson (c.1893-1917)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

DAWSON, FRANK. Private. No 5292. 'A' Company, 2/5th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born 51 Yews Mount, Lockwood. Son of Mrs Edith Dawson, 24 Crosland Road, Thornton Lodge, Huddersfield. Educated Mount Pleasant Council School. Employed as a twister-in by Messrs Shaw Brothers, Larchfield Mills, Firth Street, Huddersfield. Enlisted 22.3.1916. Killed at Miraumont on the Somme, 27.2.1917, aged 23 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
