The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- CRABTREE, FRANK. Private. No 5619. 1/5th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Marsden. Son of Mr and Mrs William Crabtree, 20 Sandhurst Cottages, Marsden. Employed as a teaser at Bank Bottom Mills, Marsden. Enlisted March, 1916, and embarked for France, 30.6.1916. Killed in action, 25.9.1916, aged 19 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated on the THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
