Frank Candler (1898-1918)

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- CANDLER, FRANK. Private. No 42236. Hertfordshire Regiment. Formerly No 93553 Sherwood Foresters. Born Upper Quarry Road, Bradley, Huddersfield, 19.10.1898. Son of Cant and Sarah Candler, 60 Bradley Road, Bradley. Educated at Bradley Church of England School. Employed as a junior clerk at Kirkheaton Station by the London and North Western Railway Company. Enlisted 23.3.1917. Wounded, 27.10.1918, and died of his wounds at St. Dunstan's Hospital, Northampton, on 5.11.1918, aged 20 years. Buried in St. THOMAS'S CHURCHYARD, BRADLEY, HUDDERSFIELD. Grave location:- in the South part.
