Frank Alban Pentelow (c.1891-1916)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922
The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- PENTELOW, FRANK ALBAN. Corporal. No 3/3051. 6th Battalion King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Born Whitwell, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. Son of Ernest Pentelow, 35 Welbeck Street, Whitwell, Mansfield, and the late Agnes Pentelow. Previously employed as a miner. Came to Huddersfield in 1913 and joined the Huddersfield Borough police force, as a Constable, on 9.6.1913. Enlisted September 1914. Killed in action, in an attack on Delville Wood during the Battle of the Somme, on 15.9.1916, aged 25 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
