Francis Herbert Sherratt (1888-1918)
An ongoing project to commemorate and research the lives of those who appear on war memorials and rolls of honour in the local area, who served in the military, or whose deaths were linked to conflict.
Francis Herbert Sherratt was born in Salford, Lancashire, the son of accountant Francis D. Sherratt and his wife Sarah.
The family lived for a period in the Huddersfield area circa 1900 and were recorded in the 1901 Census at 99 Rawthorpe Lane, Dalton but seemingly also spent time in the Lindley area. By 1911, they had returned to Manchester where Francis was listed in the census as an "invoice clerk".
Francis is recorded on the Roll of Honour of Thorncliffe Street Methodist Church, Lindley.
