Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

SYKES, FRANCE. Corporal. No 305462. 2/7th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Son of Mrs Dyson, 13 Northview Cottages, Marsden. Employed as a piecer by Messrs Crowther, Bruce and Company. Was a member of the Adult School. Enlisted 12.8.1914. Embarked for France in January, 1917. Killed in action, 3.5.1917, at the Battle of Bullecourt. He was 19 years of age. Has no known grave. Commemorated ARRAS MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
