Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

MALLINSON, ERNEST, MM. Sergeant. No L/18892. 'A' Battery, 155th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. Born Linthwaite, Huddersfield. Son of William Henry and Mary Ellen Mallinson, 2 Slades, Linthwaite. Attended Linthwaite Church and was a member of the choir. Employed as a spinner by the Ramsden Mill Company. Enlisted February 1915. Embarked for France in December 1915. Awarded the Military Medal for distinguished conduct in the field on 21.9.1917. Killed in action, 3.10.1918, aged 22 years. Buried CHAPEL CORNER CEMETERY, SAUCHY-LESTREE. Grave location:- Row A, Grave 23.
