Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

DRANSFIELD, ERNEST. Private. No 241302. 1/5th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Crosland Hill, 11.10.1885. Son of Mr and Mrs Tom Dransfield, 8 Quarry Road, Crosland Hill. Educated Milnsbridge National School. Employed as a teaser by Messrs J. Wimpenny and Company, Linthwaite. Enlisted 1.8.1915. Died of wounds at No 10 Casualty Clearing Station, 18.11.1917, aged 32 years. Buried LIJSSENTHOEK MILITARY CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 27, Row AA, Grave 6a.
ROH:- 'Rising Sun' Public House, Crosland Hill; Huddersfield Drill Hall.
Brother of Private NORMAN DRANSFIELD killed in action, 18.4.1915.
