The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- BARLOW, ERNEST. Private. No 3285. 1/5th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Lived Thurstonland. Was employed as a farmer's man for Mr James Atkinson of Bottoms, Holmfirth. Engaged to be married. Enlisted in the Holmfirth Territorials at the outbreak of the war. Died of wounds, 10.7.1915. Buried in FERME-OLIVER CEMETERY, ELVERDINGHE, BELGIUM. Grave location:- Plot 1, Row J, Grave 5.
