Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

HORSFALL, ERNEST ARTHUR. Private. No 3707. 1/5th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born 1 Bradley Lane, New North Road, Huddersfield. Son of Arthur and Lily Horsfall, 190 Halifax Old Road, Birkby. Educated Holy Trinity Church of England School, Portland Street, Huddersfield. Employed as a heald maker by Messrs Barlow and Hucknall, Colne Road, Huddersfield. Single. Enlisted 27.12.1914. Suffered a severe wound to the groin near Thiepval Wood, 3.9.1916. Died of wounds on 27.9.1916 at King George's Hospital, London, aged 21 years. Buried EDGERTON CEMETERY, HUDDERSFIELD. Grave location:- 10B, 174.
