Ernest Alfred Gibson (c.1893-1917)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

GIBSON, ERNEST ALFRED. Lance Corporal. No 305494. 1/7th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Son of Mr and Mrs A. J. Gibson of Irthlingboro', Northamptonshire. Employed at Ready Carr Mill, Marsden. Single. Lived with his cousin, Sergeant Gibson, at Hard End, Marsden. Had served four years as a Territorial in the Northamptonshire Regiment. Enlisted August 1914. Wounded, 25.7.1917, at Nieuport, Belgium, and died the following day, 26.7.1917, aged 24 years. Buried COXYDE MILITARY CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 1, Row L, Grave 7.
