Eric Tunnicliffe (c.1894-1917)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922
The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- TUNNICLIFFE, ERIC. Private. No 38126. 2nd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment. Born Skelmanthorpe. Son of Charlie and Cinderella Tunnacliffe, Fairmount, Huddersfield Road, Skelmanthorpe. Husband of Emily Tunnacliffe (later Emily Meachen, 16 Carr Hill, Balby, Doncaster). Employed as a butcher by Mr Robert Heaton, of Skelmanthorpe. Attended the Skelmanthorpe Primitive Methodist Chapel. Enlisted 18.9.1916. Embarked for France in January, 1917. Killed in an enemy air raid on 1.10.1917, aged 23 years. Buried LONGUENESSE (St. OMER) SOUVENIR CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 4, Row E, Grave 19.
