Elizabeth Hough (1795-1870)

Elizabeth Hough was the older sister of the Rev. George Hough (1797-1879), the first incumbent of Holy Trinity, South Crosland.

She was born around on 17 August 1795 in London, the daughter of Samuel and Margaret Hough, and was baptised on 2 September 1795 at St Peter upon Cornhill, London.

She lived as a spinster with her brother at the vicarage, where she died on Christmas Eve 1870, aged 75. She was buried at Holy Trinity on 29 December 1870.

Following her death, the Hough Memorial School, Netherton, was built in her memory by her brother.
