Edwin Hollas (1887-1917)

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- HOLLAS, EDWIN. Pioneer No 131102. 47th Base Park Company, Royal Engineers. Born Paddock in December 1887. Son of Henry Hollas, 65 Thorne Road, Thornton Lodge. Educated Paddock Board School. Employed on the Huddersfield Tramways. Married, with five children. Lived 38 Storths, Moldgreen. Enlisted September 1914. Died of heatstroke in Mesopotamia on 13.7.1917, aged 29 years. Buried BASRA WAR CEMETERY, IRAQ. Grave location:- Plot 4, Row H, Grave 17.
