Edmund Rawcliffe (1885-1918)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

RAWCLIFFE, EDMUND. Lance Corporal. No 201679. 1/5th Battalion Seaforth Highlanders. Born Handel Street, Golcar, 21.12.1885. Son of James E. Rawcliffe, 26 Woodbottom, Netherton, Huddersfield. Educated Goitfield Schools. Was in business as a joiner and carpenter and had served his apprenticeship with Mr A. Astley, of Marsh. Husband of Sarah E. Rawcliffe, 137 Belmont Terrace, Leeds Road, Bradley. Enlisted in 1915. Killed in action near Cambrai on 15.10.1918, aged 32 years. Buried IWUY COMMUNAL CEMETERY. Grave location:- Row A, Grave 14.
