The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

HANSON, EDGAR. Private. No 267791. 1/7th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment. Born 30 Poplar Street, Birkby, Huddersfield. Son of John E. Hanson, 51 Tanfield Terrace, Birkby, Huddersfield. Employed at the telephone exchange. Enlisted October 1914. Died of gunshot wounds, 2.5.1918, aged 20 years. Buried BOULOGNE EASTERN CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 9, Row B, Grave 22.
