Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

GARTHWAITE, EDGAR. Private. No 241966. 2/6th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment. Born Kirkheaton. Worked at Fields Cooperative Store, Kirkheaton, as a shop assistant. Was a member of the choir at Fields Congregational Church. Enlisted March 1916. Reported missing, presumed killed, at the Battle of Bullecourt, 3.5.1917, aged 31 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated ARRAS MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
