The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

WORTLEY, DAVID HENRY. Private. No 36310. 26th (Tyneside Irish) Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers. Born Shepley. Husband of Ellen Wortley, Greenside, Shepley. Employed as a painter at Kirkburton. Killed in action, 8.11.1917, aged 29 years. Buried St. MARTIN CALVAIRE BRITISH CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 1, Row D, Grave 5.
