Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

SHAW, DAN. Corporal. No 305612. 2/7th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Lived with his grandmother at 32 Golcar Hill, Golcar. Employed by Messrs B. and J. Whitwam and Sons Limited, Stanley Mills, Golcar. Attended Golcar Parish Church. Was a member of the Cliff Ash Labour Club. Enlisted October 1914. Embarked for France in January, 1917. Critically wounded at the beginning of September, 1917. Was admitted to No 3 Casualty Clearing Station, where he died of wounds on 20.9.1917, 20 years. Buried GREVILLERS BRITISH CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 7, Row A, Grave 14.
