The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

RIGBY, CORNELIUS THOMAS WILLIAM. Private No 3/11375. 10th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Birmingham. Son of the Rev. T. N. Rigby, Field House, Denby Dale. Enlisted at the outbreak of the war. Killed in action at Munster Alley, near Pozieres, during the Battle of the Somme on 29.7.1916, aged 42 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
