The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

WOOD, CHARLIE. Ordinary Seaman. No J/77668. Royal Navy. HMS Vehement. Son of John and Ann Wood, Station Road, Clayton West. Killed in action by mine explosion in North Sea on 2.8.1918, aged 23 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated PORTSMOUTH NAVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
