Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

WOOD, CHARLIE. Rifleman. No R/19968. 16th Battalion King's Royal Rifle Corps. Born Slaithwaite. Son of Tom and Hannah Wood, 9 Lowestwood, Golcar. Killed in action at High Wood on 11.8.1916 during the Battle of the Somme. He was 31 years of age. Has no known grave. Commemorated THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
