Charles Henry Cocker (1895-1917)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

COCKER, CHARLES HENRY. Rifleman. No A/200533. 11th Battalion King's Royal Rifle Corps. Formerly No 5587 3rd Battalion London Regiment. Born Almondbury 29.4.1895. Son of Mr and Mrs H Cocker, 121 Armitage Road, Milnsbridge. Educated at Almondbury Council School. Employed as a postman at Huddersfield G.P.O. and was a member of the Messengers Band. Enlisted 16.3.1915. Killed in action, 20.9.1917. aged 23. Has no known grave. Commemorated on the TYNE COT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
