The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

HINCHLIFFE, CHARLES GODFREY. Guardsman. No 13956. Coldstream Guards. Born Gunthwaite, near Penistone. Son of the late Wright Hinchcliffe and Elizabeth Town (formerly Hinchcliffe), of Upper Denby. Killed in action, 19.6.1917, aged 23. Buried ARTILLERY WOOD CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 7, Row C, Grave 14.
ROH:- Denby Dale and Cumberworth War Memorial.
