Charles Gledhill (1886-1917)

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

GLEDHILL, CHARLES. Private. No 41588. 17th Battalion (2nd Leeds Pals) West Yorkshire Regiment. Born Leeches, Outlane, 12.3.1886. Son of Thomas and Alicia Gledhill, Lea Farm, Outlane. Educated Outlane Board School. Attended Bethel United Methodist Sunday School, Outlane. Employed as a weaver by Messrs Gee and Whiteley Limited, Parkwood Mills, Longwood. Married, with three children, living at 3 St. George's Square, Outlane. Enlisted 22.8.1916. Reported missing, presumed killed, 31.8.1917, aged 31 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
