Charles Edward Chambers (c.1892-1917)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

CHAMBERS, CHARLES EDWARD. Sergeant. No 240111. 1/5th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Kirkburton. Son of Henry and Emma Chambers, Park View, Kirkburton. Attended Dogley Lane Congregational Church. Employed by Messrs B. H. Moxon and Sons, of Kirkburton. Was in the local Territorials before the outbreak of war. Embarked for France in April, 1915. Killed in action at Nieuport, 7.8.1917, aged 25 years. Buried RAMSCAPELLE ROAD CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 2, Row A, Grave 4.
