By the 1881, the property was the residence of Thomas Broadbent — founder of Thomas Broadbent & Sons, Ltd. — and his widow Helen continued to live there after his death in 1880.

By 1900, the property had been divided into two (5 & 7 Chapel Hill) with the small part (7) being used as a dentists.

The property was demolished circa 1961.
