Category:Methodist chapels and churches

Local Methodist and Wesleyan chapels and churches.

Early Wesleyan chapels (from before the secession of the Primitives and New Connexion) were sometimes known locally as "Th'Owd Body" (The Old Body).

Distribution

Almost every township contained at least one purpose-built chapel, with the exception of Holme, Lingards, Scammonden, and Marsden-in-Huddersfield. One noteworthy fact is that townships with a Primitive Methodist chapel rarely also contained a Baptist chapel.

Primitive chapels are shown in red, New Connexion in green, Wesleyan Methodist in purple, and Free United chapels are shown in blue.
