- THOMPSON, BROOKSBANK. Private. No 241361. 5/6th Battalion The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles). Born Crosland Moor 19.1.1883. Educated Crosland Moor Council School. Husband of Phillis Thompson, 11 Barton Road, Crosland Moor. Employed as an insurance agent by the Prudential Assurance Company Limited. Enlisted September 1916. Killed in action at Kemmel Hill on 8.5.1918, aged 35 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated TYNE COT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
