Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

IREDALE, BERTRAND. Gunner. No 26377. 'B' Battery, 232nd Brigade Royal Field Artillery. Born Longwood 2.6.1897. Son of Thomasand Lily Iredale, 27 Cliffe End Road, Longwood. Educated Oakes Board School. Employed as a weft man by Messrs C. and J. Hirst of Longwood. Attended St. Mark's Parish Church, Longwood. Single. Enlisted 17.12.1914. Embarked for France in July 1915. Was wounded and in hospital in Aberdeen in October, 1916, and returned to France in January, 1917. Killed in action at Passchendaele, 12.10.1917, aged 20 years. Buried PASSCHENDAELE NEW BRITISH CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 11, Row D, Grave 8.
