The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

WOOD, BERTRAM BARRETT. Sergeant. No 6/1083. Canterbury Regiment, New Zealand Expedtionary Force. Born 59 West Parade, Huddersfield, 5.5.1891. Son of Arthur and Frances Wood. Educated Spring Grove Council School. Emigrated to New Zealand, where he was employed as a draper. Lived Ashburton, Canterbury, New Zealand. Single. Enlisted August 1914. Sailed for the Dardenelles. Wounded at Gallipoli on 30.4.1915. Died of wounds on 14.5.1915 at the Military Hospital, Ras-el-tin, Alexandria, Egypt. Buried CHATBY WAR MEMORIAL CEMETERY, EGYPT. Grave location:- Row E, Grave 95.
