Built by Huddersfield Corporation Waterworks and completed May 1879 with an approximate capacity of 184,000 gallons.[1][2] It replaced an earlier reservoir at Cold Hill built by the Berry Brow Water Supply Co. Ltd.
Although the site has now returned to nature, the circular inner walls of the former reservoir are still visible.
