The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

WOOD, BERNAL. Bombardier. No L/25414. 'A' Battery, 168th (Huddersfield) Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. Born Huddersfield 22.8.1895. Son of Albert and Hannah Eliza Wood, 39 Church Lane, Moldgreen, Huddersfield. Educated Moldgreen Council School. Employed as a postman at Huddersfield General Post Office. Was a member of the Ramsden Street Men's Own Class. Single. Enlisted 28.4.1915. Killed in action, 20.10.1917, during the Battle of Passchendaele, aged 22. Buried NEW IRISH FARM CEMETERY, St. JEAN-les-YPRES, BELGIUM. Grave location:- Plot 10, Row D, Grave 19.
